House rules and policies
The Tahoe basin is under high fire risk year-round, which is why smoking is refused everywhere on our properties, outdoor areas included. Early check-in and late check-out depend on the cleaning schedule that day — ask us 48 hours ahead and we'll do what we can.
Getting to Hastings Hideaway Cabin
Reno-Tahoe International is the closest commercial airport to every home we manage. Sacramento and the Bay Area are the common drives, all of them over a mountain pass.
CA-89 and CA-28 around the lake get chain controls in winter storms, and Donner Summit on I-80 closes on short notice. Check conditions before you leave — Caltrans for California and nvroads.com for Nevada — and plan to arrive before dark on check-in day in ski season.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house has so much space, with an expansive primary bedroom with a beautiful fireplace and large tub, really great common areas like the kitchen, living room, and dining area (the view from the dining table out to unobstructed trees is the best in the house!), as well as an entire comfortable lower level. Our toddler had fun with various knick knacks but overall was toddler safe (also they provide a high chair). The house was easy to find at the end of a cul de sac while still bright, there may be more issues in the dark. Murat was very responsive in fixing burned out lights by the next day. The only inconvenience was lack of a garage opener - one of us had to get out of the car, get in through the front door, and open the garage door from inside the house (and reverse that process when leaving). Also beware, after 9pm there are zero food options except for Safeway (open 24/7).
We had a wonderful stay. The home was spacious, filled with natural light, and had a cozy cabin-style interior that made it feel very warm and welcoming. The location was great, and we immediately felt at home. We'd happily stay here again when visiting Lake Tahoe.

Absolutely loved the stay! The home is beautiful, with every decor piece thoughtfully chosen. The spacious open living area was perfect for enjoying time with family. Plus, it’s conveniently located close to Kings Beach and several scenic viewpoints.

A lovely place and neighborhood. Cabin is stocked with essential amenities and other things you often forget about but make the stay so much more relaxing, enjoyable, and stress free.
This was the perfect place to stay in Tahoe! It was an absolutely beautiful cabin, and the host was super quick to respond and helpful. The cabin was perfectly clean and had everything we needed, with a gorgeous view of the snow and trees. Will definitely be staying here again!

This cabin was wonderful! Very spacious! The cauldasac made it feel very secluded and peaceful, as well as the forest surroundings! Will definitely return if possible!
