The Tahoe basin is under high fire risk year-round, which is why smoking is refused everywhere on our properties, outdoor areas included. Early check-in and late check-out depend on the cleaning schedule that day — ask us 48 hours ahead and we'll do what we can.
Getting to Restful North Ridge
Reno-Tahoe International is the closest commercial airport to every home we manage. Sacramento and the Bay Area are the common drives, all of them over a mountain pass.
CA-89 and CA-28 around the lake get chain controls in winter storms, and Donner Summit on I-80 closes on short notice. Check conditions before you leave — Caltrans for California and nvroads.com for Nevada — and plan to arrive before dark on check-in day in ski season.

This house is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and spacious. Plus, the backyard is a real gem - large, peaceful, and lots of seating areas. This was a great jumping off point for all sorts of summer adventures around Tahoe. MG was very responsive to all communication.

We had a short stay but enjoyed our time here. The fireplace is a great touch. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked nice. Lots of space to spread out and very comfy! The road up to the cabin is steep but parking is easy and we were surprised how quiet the neighborhood was.

Amazing stay!
We loved staying at Mg's boutique airbnb! It was a gorgeous home and unforgettable experience. Incredible craftsmanship and architecture throughout, and you can't beat the hot tub too. Each of the three bedrooms is massive and private, and the shared living area is cozy and substantial. It will fit all your ski gear and board games. We made good use of the full kitchen as well, equipped with any tool you might need for a home made meal. We stayed in March at the beginning of a warmer season, right before a heatwave so there was very little snow at this altitude in carnelian bay and our car did not need chains but prospective guests should note that the road to enter the property (Ridgewood Rd I think?) is quite steep and your car may struggle in the snow! If your car is properly equipped, you will absolutely enjoy staying here.
Great home for our family of 4 to spend 5 nights in while storm skiing at Palisades. Host was incredibly responsive, including dropping off a kitchen replacement within minutes of us mentioning an item we found damaged on arrival. Couldn’t have asked for a more cozy and warm place to relax after hard days on the slopes. Palisades received 10 feet(!) of snow while we were staying here. This property is on a steep hill that would likely be inaccessible without a properly-equipped vehicle in the snow. We managed all right, but there were lots of cars stuck and abandoned nearby during the storm. Would love to come back! Thanks to the hosts for an amazing time!
