How far is Sierra Woodlands Getaway from the places you'll actually go?
Distances are straight-line from this home's own coordinates, so the road distance is longer — mountain roads wind. We've left drive times out rather than estimate them; call us and we'll tell you what the drive is really like in the season you're coming.
House rules and policies
The Tahoe basin is under high fire risk year-round, which is why smoking is refused everywhere on our properties, outdoor areas included. Early check-in and late check-out depend on the cleaning schedule that day — ask us 48 hours ahead and we'll do what we can.
Getting to Sierra Woodlands Getaway
Reno-Tahoe International is the closest commercial airport to every home we manage. Sacramento and the Bay Area are the common drives, all of them over a mountain pass.
CA-89 and CA-28 around the lake get chain controls in winter storms, and Donner Summit on I-80 closes on short notice. Check conditions before you leave — Caltrans for California and nvroads.com for Nevada — and plan to arrive before dark on check-in day in ski season.
Booking direct with MG Vacation Rentals
Murat Gocmen and the MG Vacation Rentals team personally manage the homes on this site across Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Booking here means dealing with that local team directly rather than a platform queue — the same people who clean, maintain and inspect this home are the ones who answer the phone during your stay.
It also means no platform service fee on the guest side, which is typically 12–15% of the booking on the big sites. You pay the nightly rate, cleaning, occupancy tax, and card processing at cost.

This place was overall a okay stay. The house was spacious. Very peaceful scenery. Only downside we had was one of the twin beds comforter had a small poop mark on it. We didn’t contact the host because honestly what would they have done probably just wash it. We just removed it and left it in the laundry room. We didn’t let that ruin our stay. For some reason the WiFi connection stopped working on the third day of our stay, but we contacted the host and they answered and let us know where the router was so we could reset it. After that it was good. I didn’t really like how we had to set up the projector and connect the fire stick and plug everything in. Also felt like the instructions for this were very minimal in my opinion. Other than that our stay was okay.
Perfect location! The Airbnb was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. It’s just minutes away from the beach, which made getting around and enjoying Lake Tahoe super convenient. The location really couldn’t have been better. We had a great stay and would definitely come back!
The cabin is amazing and at a really convenient location. Everything was within 10 minutes - the Old Brockway Golf Course, Northstar, Safeway and Kings Beach...it was so easy getting around. We spent our time at a mini golf nearby, biking at Northstar Bike Park, and grabbing a beer at Truckee Brewing Company. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and the perfect place to unwind after a full day outside with our toddler. It had a lot of amenities and games for our toddler and a deck where he could run around safely in the evening while we made dinner. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back to again. Thanks for hosting!!
Amazing host and amazing house. The views to die for!!! Definitely staying here again and telling friends and family about it.
We will absolutely be back. The backyard is unbelievably peaceful, and you’re completely immersed in the redwoods. The interiors, all stone and wood, give it the most wonderful cabin feel. We traveled with our kids and they were happy the whole time: plenty of toys, bunk beds they loved, a safe outdoor space to play, and a projector we put to good use for movie nights and World Cup games. Safeway and some of North Beach’s best restaurants are just a 7-minute drive away, and if you enjoy hiking, the backyard opens right onto a greenbelt full of trails. Cleanliness and amenities were a perfect 10/10. We can’t recommend it highly enough.
First trip to Tahoe area for my daughters 8th bday with family. Originally a group of ten went down to 8 however I would still definitely get this place again! We loved all the rooms, the kitchen was fully stocked with useful items although I brought my own pot and seasonings just in case. The parking garage was spacious and super convenient to avoid the cold/snow when unloading and loading. The patio gorgeous honestly spent our whole trip there! We are definitely planning our next trip here! Thank you!
Very clean and cozy home. Great space in the back for the kids to play in the snow. Easy to find. Just no heat in the common space area, but would definitely stay here again.
