Getting to Tahoe Lake & Mountain Retreat

Reno-Tahoe International is the closest commercial airport to every home we manage. Sacramento and the Bay Area are the common drives, all of them over a mountain pass.

⚠ Winter driving

CA-89 and CA-28 around the lake get chain controls in winter storms, and Donner Summit on I-80 closes on short notice. Check conditions before you leave — Caltrans for California and nvroads.com for Nevada — and plan to arrive before dark on check-in day in ski season.

Booking direct with MG Vacation Rentals

Murat Gocmen and the MG Vacation Rentals team personally manage the homes on this site across Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Booking here means dealing with that local team directly rather than a platform queue — the same people who clean, maintain and inspect this home are the ones who answer the phone during your stay.

It also means no platform service fee on the guest side, which is typically 12–15% of the booking on the big sites. You pay the nightly rate, cleaning, occupancy tax, and card processing at cost.

What guests say about Tahoe Lake & Mountain Retreat

4.75 out of 5 across 4 reviews on our Airbnb listing.

This Tahoe Cabin was perfect! The location was epic. You can tell this was a loved cabin before us, someone took time crafting those beautiful wood countertops. Down the street at Cb’s bistro, the same artist with the “3 dots” did work there. You could feel the tahoe conection! We thought that was a neat fact. There’s also a easy hiking trail right up the street! Dirks hello kitty trail (: As a family who regularly cooks most meals, we found the pots/pans/ working cooking utentsils…somewhat on the slim side. That was the only disappointing aspect. Overall we found Mgs listing pleasant and cozy for our family.

We had a great stay! Perfect for 3-4 people. Felt at home in a very quiet area. Place was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Everything was within distance!

The property was perfect and in a wonderful location. The management team went above and beyond to help us with our booking very last minute. We were having terrible bug issues with another Airbnb/ management team (Avari - don't use them), this team did everything in their power to help us at 8pm. We were able to book and get access within 15minutes. I would also like to note we have a 1.5year old, I am also pregnant so their timely responses and the accommodations were exactly what we needed! They have everything you need in the property as well, even pizza pans haha. We will definitely book with them again! AMAZING SERVICE!
