Getting to Trout and About

Reno-Tahoe International is the closest commercial airport to every home we manage. Sacramento and the Bay Area are the common drives, all of them over a mountain pass.

⚠ Winter driving

CA-89 and CA-28 around the lake get chain controls in winter storms, and Donner Summit on I-80 closes on short notice. Check conditions before you leave — Caltrans for California and nvroads.com for Nevada — and plan to arrive before dark on check-in day in ski season.

Booking direct with MG Vacation Rentals

Murat Gocmen and the MG Vacation Rentals team personally manage the homes on this site across Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Booking here means dealing with that local team directly rather than a platform queue — the same people who clean, maintain and inspect this home are the ones who answer the phone during your stay.

It also means no platform service fee on the guest side, which is typically 12–15% of the booking on the big sites. You pay the nightly rate, cleaning, occupancy tax, and card processing at cost.

The house is in a great location - walkable to everything in Kings Beach! There are many places in Tahoe that are just too far from the water to actually walk - but this house has an excellent location walkable to hiking trails, the fire lookout, shops and restaurants and of course the big state park beach in Kings Beach! The house was cozy and just as advertised - perfect for our family group.

Cozy place in a great location. Only issues were related to the cooking setup. We were not able to get the oven to turn on (broiler only) and the host wasn't able to help us resolve it. We ended up trying to use the BBQ on the second night and had issues with that as well. Otherwise we had a nice stay.

I had the opportunity to stay here for three nights over the holidays. Super clean Airbnb and in a great location. I had a few issues with this Airbnb that I felt the price didn’t match the amount of issues. 1) There was water leaking from ceiling in guest room (I saw another review mentioned this as well) 2) The faucet fell completely off the wall in the bathroom. The host only response was “do you want someone to come out?” It felt pretty nonchalant… 3) There was a family of people from another unit playing in the backyard/ on back porch. Which was weird because I assumed with this Airbnb would come a private yard not shared? The host response was “ this isn’t a condo”? Which I didn’t know what that meant but it didnt seem like an issue he actually wanted to look into. That made me feel a bit uncomfortable staying here. Other issues was loose knob on oven+ oven was hard to use.

Everything was ok cute house but there was a leak while using the master bath. Luckily we did not use the bedroom where it was leaking. Host was responsive and on site asap to assure all was ok. We could not get the oven to work 😭. Beside that all was well clean and cute ☺️

Great place! My daughter wife and I spent 6 days here and it was great. Had all the things needed for a great vacation. The place was within walking distance to a lot of great things to do. This was probably the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, which was a plus. Great place.
